TAYLOR SWIFT STYLE – 2018 GRAMMYS

Though I sadly have a lot of doubts about Taylor showing up to the ceremony on Sunday, I didn’t want to deprive us all of the chance to at least dream about what she would wear to music’s biggest award show.

You’ll notice a strong, recurring theme here amongst my choices: black. I had an inclination to include my favourite colour on her (green) to represent her symbolic embrace of the snake. But I thought we’d go simple black this time.

  • Gucci Spring 2018
Because what would a prediction post in the reputation era be without a reference to Gucci — a brand she’s been loving lately. This gown has the drama, the sparkle, and the upper torso coverage silhouette that Taylor has been favouring lately (oversized hoodies, short hemlines). I’d think she’d remove the fluttery high-necked collar and hopefully wear a serpentine-like pair of wraparound heels. Possibly in blood red or green.
  • Monse Spring 2018
An unorthodox choice. But I think the swagger, oversized silhouettes, and odd gathering that’s generally present in Monse collections would greatly appeal to Taylor’s latest aesthetic. All this look needs is slicked back hair, a berry lip, and maybe some fierce booties.
  • Schiaparelli Spring 2018 Couture
There’s really nothing about this look that you would ordinarily associate with Taylor — and I think that’s the point. Her style has never been more unrecognizable, more unexpected than at this era in her life. If paired with knee-high boots this would be like a metallic, couture version of her reputation Secret Sessions looks
  • Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2018 Couture
I considered a lot of different variations of this look — a fierce black suit. Including ones by Mugler, Paco Rabanne, and Versace. I ultimately chose this one by JPG for its fringe (a textural detail Taylor has been liking lately) as well as for its fairly conservative silhouette.

Who do you think Taylor will wear tomorrow? Do you think she’ll show?
