The pronouncement of those braids and their utilitarian toughness feel even more significant here. Doesn’t this amazing hooded silk piece by Valentino bring to mind a wrestling hooded robe that’s shaken off by the fighter just before entering the ring?

Further, it’ll be a crime if we don’t get more Valentino moments throughout this era. And while we’re at it, I’d also like to throw Prada, Chloé, and Rodarte as other Lover-worthy brand suggestions.

Oh the high hopes I had for Lover era fashion (Chloé! Rodarte! *weeps*). I still love this couture moment for Rolling Stone last year. I find the makeup and the hair in conjunction with her couture cape moment just as intriguing now as I did then.
