TAYLOR SWIFT STYLE – LOVER FEST

This was such a bittersweet series to create. If you were around for it, you may recall I previously made an entire predictions series for the Reputation Tour which you can check out here. Unsurprisingly, one of the most-requested pieces of content since then has been a similar predictions series to Lover Fest/Tour. As we all know by now, of course, Lover Fest has been indefinitely postponed. But what I refuse to put off, even in this age of darkness, is the light of creativity and wonderment and discussion and thought.

I’ve said it many times, but I will say it again here: the goal of the TSS Predictions series has never been accuracy (though I work very hard to try to be as logical and thoughtful as possible and if correct guesses come about, that’s just a bonus to the real goal). The goal has, and always will be, fostering conversation and thought about Taylor and fashion and Taylor’s fashion. Which I certainly hope these choices do!

As always, there was the likelihood that even with Lover Fest moving forward most of her tour pieces would have been custom (as they often are). But if a global pandemic and an entire concert cancellation would not stop this series from happening, neither would the realistic nature of ready-to-wear vs custom.

So here we go.

P.S. For your convenience, I’ve also created a Spotify playlist of my proposed Lover Fest setlist for your listening pleasure while you read. You can listen to the TSS Lover Fest Spotify playlist here.

Good morning, folklore

Hi TSS-ers.

As I’m sure you’ve all seen by now, we woke up to a brave new TS8 world where that TS8 album is dropping like a folksy Americana bomb on our lives in a mere 12 hours. That album’s name is folklore. Nice of Taylor to wait to announce the album cover, title, tracklist, photoshoot, concept, and merch until I had at least returned to cell service. What a gem that Taylor.

Given the absolute surprising nature of this all and the backup of Lover content that I still had planned (including the Lover Fest predictions which I had so studiously queued up to be posted tomorrow and the TSS Lover Lyric Analysis [I hired a graphic designer for the art concept!]) I hope you’ll all indulge me for at least a bit longer to love and appreciate and enjoy that content (and that album) even amidst what I’m tentatively calling The Album Aesthetic I Have Waited Six Years For.

So today will be about welcoming what folklore is (and all those beautiful new images) but also about thinking back on all that Lover was and gave us.

Hope you enjoy! Lover Fest predictions be dropping today.

Camping (July 20-22)

Hi TSSers!

I’ll be away this week with limited cell service for a bit of a much-deserved mental break and physical getaway. In the very slim off-chance a certain someone takes advantage of my absence (she just always seems to know?!), please know I’ll address any surprise appearances when I return on Thursday, July 23.

Thinking of you all and hope you’re safe + well.
