Thanks Meg!

Alannah Hill ‘Bed Of Roses Frock’ – $349.00 (AUS) (sold out)

Long believed to be vintage, Taylor’s beautiful floral dress she wore while in Australia is by Australian designer Alannah Hill. This has long been a favourite piece of mine and it’s awesome to finally find out that Taylor was repping Australia with this vintage-inspired piece!

Worn with: French Sole flats

Everything can come up roses with these similar floral styles:

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

SWOON! Oh how little we knew the vintage fashion that would yet to come from this candid. It’s funny trying to think of where I was mentally at during the time of writing the original post. I had no clue in March 2012 that this would become Taylor’s signature style for the coming era. And, in fact, had significantly less history to go on with examples of Taylor so clearly distinguishing between her bodies of work and using fashion as a tool to delineate those time periods.

Note the string of pearls and velvet smoking slippers. So retro.

Layering a sweater over top of a dress is a great way to get more wear out of your spring/summer dresses into cooler temperatures in the fall. As per Taylor showing it off here.

The boots and sundress era of fashion truly sends my heart to the most nostalgic place. Also note the stack of bracelets signature of early Taylor.
