TAYLOR SWIFT STYLE — GRAMMYS

Sunday would have marked Taylor’s return to the Grammys after a four year absence. Since originally writing this predictions post, Taylor has confirmed that she will not be performing nor attending tomorrow’s ceremony.

I put it as a vote to you all on Instagram if you would still be interested in seeing my predictions post. ‘Yes’ was a landslide winner — so thank you for that.

Let’s take this as an opportunity to dream to think about what would have been.

Typically, Taylor has stuck to metallics and neutrals in her right previous appearances at the Grammys. In support of 1989 (2015-16) she diverged into vibrant colour. To split the odds, I went with two colourful pieces and two more sparkly options.Let’s get down to details.

  • Atelier Versace Fall 2017 Couture

Dipping into a slightly older collection for this beautifully embroidered, rose gold blazer and pant set. Taylor tested out a non-gown silhouette at the 2016 Grammys (paying ode to that era’s distinctive crop top style with a bandeau top and full skirt). I can absolutely see a slicked, wet low pony and a dark bloody lip (similar to runway) styled with this set for an intimidatingly suited up feminine look. I would have chills.
  • Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2020

I would start crying and never stop. This would be an epically elegant Blondes In Yellow™ moment. The material and cut are so beautiful and svelte. Couldn’t you just imagine an updo with huge emerald-cut citrine earrings paired with this and perhaps some gold sandals?
  • Georges Hobeika Fall 2019 Couture

I’m dying for a cape-like moment from Taylor and think that she’s primed for one. This juicy raspberry colour would be stunning on her and I hope if it’s worn the sense to have her hair up, black onyx ear climbers on, and a glossy berry lip is styled with it.
  • Oscar de la Renta Spring 2020

This is the last OdlR gown I’m going to predict for a looooong time. This look combines the colour of her Gucci gown from the 2014 Gramys with the flowing plisse skirt of her Kaufmanfranco look at the 2013 Grammys (+ check the runner ups below for yet another blast to the Grammys past). This is very classic metallic-loving, princess-cut classic Taylor at her best.

What do you think of my choices? Who do you hope Taylor wears for her big return to the Grammys?

Mateo ‘Pearl Semicircle Earring with Diamonds’ – $1,250.00
Mateo ‘14KT Gold Secret Love Ring’ – $1,950.00

I adore these beautiful architectural pearl earrings. And what a stunner of a statement ring. Note that this ring also comes in initial versions. Photos aren’t conclusive but will take heed from brand should they clarify she’s got a ‘T’ (or other initial) ring on instead.

Worn with: Carmen March coat + top + pants and Manolo Blahnik boots
