What do you think of her new performance outfit, specifically the shorts? They’ve sparked a lot of controversy. I love them, even though I think they’re a little short. At least her butt’s not hanging out the back, so it’s still very mature and classy would be the word, I guess.

By request, I’m putting my thoughts and opinions under a read more.

I actually hadn’t realized that Taylor’s outfit had sparked any kind of controversy, but I’m sort of in the mindset that any critical or scandalous arguments that are sparked by anything regarding Taylor’s image is something you have to get used to.

I may be critical and not like some of Taylor’s outfit choices, but my thinking that a dress is too boring or a pair of shoes ages her when she should be trying to find a sweet spot between mature and “grandma-esque” doesn’t reflect how I think about her as a person or as a musician. 

Where I think the root of the problem is when phrases like: “She’s changing too much”, “She’s being too sexy”, “She’s going the Miley route”, “Doesn’t she realize she’s supposed to be a role model?”, “I remember when I first became a fan of Taylor and she looked like x, y, z”. That’s when I think it hits dangerous territory. 

Bottom line: 

I think Taylor’s starting to vamp her image up at an appropriate time and at an appropriate, gradual speed. She’s almost 23. It’s about time. 

In the Red Photo shoot, Taylor is wearing black high-waist shorts, but do you by any chance know what shirt she’s wearing? The black and white striped one. Also, in her Mean music video, when she’s tied with ropes and sitting on the train tracks, she wears this white and black dress. Do you know what it is? Thanks!
