Whats your opinion on the whole VMA thing that everyones freaking out about? Not necesarly the f bomb thing but also the speech when she got the award?

Extremely smart publicity, in my opinion. Taylor is a savvy businesswoman and I honestly don’t think that “IKWYT” is about Harry (though I do think, similar to “White Horse”, it’s a song that was written about somebody else but became relevant as she was promoting the album). But I do think that Taylor knows what she’s doing when it comes to PR.

And the fact that Harry was there probably influenced her speech enough to stir up a little discussion/attention about her songs and her album.

And even if none of that is true, it isn’t out of the norm anyway for Taylor to say something along those lines (“If boys don’t want me to write bad songs about them, they shouldn’t do bad things.” – Forever & Always).

Even MORE additionally, it’s not an out-of-the-norm comment anyway? How many times have people said “Thanks to the bullies out there because, without them, I wouldn’t be here.” Or something to that effect. So many celebrities have been all “”sassy”” and thanked their haters for fuelling them emotionally and isolating them enough that it came out in their work, which made them famous.

The only thing “controversial” about what Taylor Swift said is the fact that she is Taylor Swift and apparently anything she says is worthy of a death threat.

Could I have a link to Taylor’s MySpace?

Taylor Swift. This was her primary tool of communication during the self-titled and Fearless eras. It was what got her so much attention to begin with, because she was one of the few stars out there to connect with fans via social media. You can see it mentioned so many times in pretty much every interview from 2006-08. Taylor was also one of the first celebrities to sign up for a Twitter account.

what are your favorite quotes by Taylor Swift?

image

(I kid … sort of).

Closely tied with “I think beauty is sincerity” and pretty much any of her introduction speeches to “Ours.”

– Sarah

I actually love seeing her sassier side come out on her old myspace! All her old myspace comments are priceless, but this one is my favorite:

And actually every single one of her speeches in her concerts. They’re so genuine.
