Miu Miu ‘Studded Oxford’ – sold out

Unfortunately, Taylor’s exact studded oxfords are sold out (via Barney’s). However, the very similar-looking loafer that features the same studding as Taylor’s shoes are on sale for $409.

Fun fact: These aren’t the first Miu Miu oxfords Taylor has worn while performing. She owns a glitter pair that she just recently wore to the CMA Fest and — if you’ve kept up with TSS’ exclusive coverage of the RED Tour wardrobe — you know that she rocks out in this jewel-heeled pair every night while on tour.

Worn with: 3.1 Phillip Lim shirt

What was taylors style during the ‘Taylor Swift’ era?

Taylor’s style during the self-titled era was very young country, over-exaggerated and loud. For example, her hair was much bigger and often left untamed. The curls were either styled to be naturally frizzy or corkscrewed and voluminous.

For the majority of award shows I can only describe her go-to style as “prom dress”-y. Which, given the fact that she was a high school student and her framework for style was prom dresses, isn’t really that surprising.

She almost exclusively wore cowboy boots during concerts and a few award shows.

Her concert-wear consisted of spaghetti strap dresses with deep v-cuts, embellished with either ruffles or sequins.

Taylor also had a tendency during this era to stack her bracelets (only on her left hand so her jewelry wouldn’t interfere with her strumming right hand when playing guitar). This went on until the Fearless era. The self-titled era is also marked by the ‘Sharpie Heart’ which Taylor drew on the top of her left foot (you can see it in some of the artwork from the self-titled album booklet). She once stated she would get it tattooed on if her album sold a certain amount of records. This was later redacted when her dad told her if she got a tattoo he would “sand it off with a belt sander.”

More corkscrew curls. Also my least favourite thing Taylor has ever worn. Like ever.

ASOS ‘Romper in Spot Print’ – $17.82 (size 6, oxblood)

What I originally thought was another dress by Taylor is actually a top/shorts combo. It’s a shame we can’t see more of it since this would mark the first time Taylor has ever worn such an item.

Worn with: Mark Cross bag

Also worn: Club RED in East Rutherford
