I believe she wore a lot of preppy items back in high school. Very Abercrombie/Hollister/American Eagle-oriented. She also wore a choker that had a lot of personal significance to her for awhile in the early stages of her career and some early documentaries that got filmed when she was attending Hendersonville High.

What would the Taylor wear to school when she had curly hair. When she was in school? Like in high school

what are illusion panels?
If you zoom in close to some of the RED Tour pics you’ll see that her plunging necklines, like on the red bodysuit from “The Lucky One” (and others), that it’s not actually a plunging neckline. There’s a nude, sheer panel of fabric called an “illusion panel”. It’s to give the appearance of a particularly risqué neckline, but none of the accidental revealing while you’re doing fast-paced movement (like on tour).
You can see it best in this photo:

What’s your favorite fashion blogs hun? :3
I don’t follow too many fashion blogs online. My one exception is Tanesha Awasthi’s Girl With Curves. I feel like she sets a brilliant example of how fashion is something creative and all of its rules should be broken.
I do, however, obsessively follow the major runways off Style and Vogue and I’m always interested in what RCFA has to say about celebs outfits.
Primarily, though, I’m a journalism student and fashion intern so I have subscriptions out to a massive list of magazines. My favourites would be Flare, Allure, Marie Claire, Elle and I have a soft spot for Nylon.
– Sarah
I read two fashion blogs regularly: behindtheseams and Atlantic-Pacific.
Like Sarah, I also follow runways off Style and Vogue. I also enjoy browsing Pantone’s color palettes (because of my interest in graphic design) and comparing them to the runway.
The two fashion magazines I read constantly are Elle and Nylon.

Hey girls! First of all, I love this blog so much ;)))) and i’m really curious of what you think of taylor’s style :) thanksss i love you <13
SARAH:
Momentarily going to freak out because I love your blog and follow it on my personal and you follow this blog and that’s so cool!! Okay. Good. Got that out of the way.
I find Taylor’s style eclectic but also signature. I think she’s capable of dressing in so many different ways. Most of the time she’s super girly: floral dresses, pearl earrings, kitten heels. Sometimes it’s chic and hipster-esque: cropped denim, patterned shirts, oxford flats. And then sometimes it’s totally left-field and she pulls out something hippie-ish: long flowing skirts, lacy loose tops, floppy hats. Her sense of style isn’t necessarily something I mimic in real life, but I’ve definitely taken my make-up lessons from her in my daily routine.
My personal favourite Taylor Style-era was back in 2008-09 when she had her schoolgirl phase and would wear argyle stockings, tailored piping-trimmed blazers, short skirts, ties and heeled oxfords. But I’m definitely enjoying her style evolution these days (minus when she wears actual vintage pieces because they’re impossible to track down).
It’s funny because sometimes I think she dresses too old (pinned-up hair and up-to-the-throat necklines with knee-hemlines) and then sometimes too young (sparkly ivory dresses with glitter heels) but more often than not she hits that sweet spot of vintage and modern, young and fresh with some old-school touches.
ANNA:
Thank you so much for following!! I love you too girl!
Since Sarah and I are basically the same person, I agree with everything she ever-so eloquently said.
I will add, however, that my favorite aspect of Taylor’s style- one that I must admit I am jealous of- is how she is capable of pulling off any look she wants to! I have never seen an outfit on Taylor and thought that it looked horrible. There are a few grandma-eqsue outfits that aren’t my favorite, but somehow, she still looks gorgeous.
It is hard to pick a single favorite look of Taylor’s, but my favorite clothing era of hers is the same as Sarah’s- 2008-09 schoolgirl look with knee-highs, skirts, buttoned up shirts, and heeled oxfords. I also love seeing her looking natural- minimal makeup, hair in a ponytail, and jeans and a tee.
I am always excited when new candids emerge to see what era Taylor is emulating this time. It has been exciting watching Taylor’s style evolve, and I hope she keeps taking more and more fashion risks!

Do you know any exact brands and colors of Taylor’s red lipstick? Thanks for your time and all the effort you put into this blog!
I’ve answered this question before, but in the past Taylor has said she uses:
- NARS ‘Velvet Matte Lip Pencil’ in ‘Dragon Girl’
- CoverGirl ‘LipPerfection LipColour’ in ‘Hot’, ‘Flame’ and ‘Burn’
