Reem Acra Spring 2015

My first thought was: Wow it looks like her Azzaro and Kaufmanfranco dresses had a full-length lovechild. 

My second thought was: This is a rather underwhelming gown to wear for a milestone achievement award.

I guess perhaps I was hoping for something far grander than this minty cutout gown which marries parts of both of those aforementioned dresses. Something with a bit more drama and extravagance. Though perhaps it’s understandable she would want to be a bit more low-key at an event for a genre of music she no longer associates with. And the shade is nonetheless beautiful on her.

Still, this was a milestone achievement award she’s meant to receive and I think a little bit more flair should have been served up for tonight.

Jimmy Choo ‘Iris Patent Square Toe Pumps’ – $675.00

From the pastel colour to the mod block heel, though the outfit isn’t quite to my taste I think the general styling for Taylor’s retro look was consistent and on-point.

Lena Dunham and she wore an outfit that proved how fast her style can
switch gears. From New York city girl to prim girly throwback.

While
retro!Taylor isn’t always to my personal taste, it’s cute the way she
plays with colour and silhouette here and it’s no surprise she turned to
vintage-inspired brand Miss Patina for her retro outfit.
