Waldrip ‘Wool Top with Mock Collar’ – $325.00
I don’t really have much to say about Taylor’s conservative-looking high-neck top from Waldrip. It kind of feels like a ‘came out of nowhere’ silhouette that generally isn’t the norm for girly Taylor. In that sense, it reminds me of Taylor’s all-black Stella McCartney look from last May — which was another case of abnormal silhouette for Taylor.

Charlotte Olympia ‘Belinda Sandals’ – $1029.15
A fierce pair of red heels was on my wishlist for Taylor to wear with this gown. And she certainly delivered. I just wish we had gotten at least one HQ photo of Taylor lifting up her gown so we could see these intricate cutout platform Charlotte Olympia heels.

Now this is much more like it.
Bouncing back from a divisive green look the night before at the Elle Style Awards, I’m glad to see Taylor indulge in a fierce risk that I can actually appreciate.
Though the silhouette from the front may be somber, it’s the vibrant red dragon-embroidered and mesh back that delivers the drama. Improvements in terms of hair and make-up as well as styling (those ear cuffs!) are also high points for this look.
While I’m not sure it will go down as one of my all-time favourites from Taylor, though I’m sure this moment will be dubbed ‘The Dragon Dress’ by its admirers, this is the kind of fierce elegance and confidence I’d like to see from now on. She’s rocking this.

Taylor wears a pair of ‘Slide’ sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti in all black. Pictured above is the snake-stamped version and linked for purchase is a crystal version.
While the sight of the often fierce brand Giuseppe Zanotti on Taylor usually gets me excited, here, I once again feel like a switch to a pair of ‘Nudist’ (Stuart Weitzman) or ‘Minnie’ (Jimmy Choo) sandals would have slimmed the look down.
