While we again don’t quite know which song this get up is for, what we do know is the makeup was done by Pat McGrath – just as it was for the night Taylor announced Midnights at the MTV VMAs. And just like that instance, Pat used all the same components to pull off her dramatic beauty.

The use of sparkly appliqués beneath her brow to create an exaggerated winged effect also feels like a callback to that night.

I’m appreciative and grateful for Pat McGrath’s beauty work on Taylor last night – and for posting all. the. deets! It’s so fun to be able to have insight into the exact details of Taylor’s beauty lewks.

As I’ve had a moment to process and go over close up photos, my thoughts on beauty styling are the jewels are awesome choices (especially those earrings) and I generally love the makeup and glow.

But I do wish that in order to commit to the retro vibes and provide a cleaner finish around her forehead that her bangs were styled in finger curls and perhaps paring down the crystal appliques to a single one (or 2-3) at each corner of her eyes to further emphasize her signature cat eyeliner. That or instead of black liner, a fun silver glitter liner.

Taylor Swift’s makeup artist Lorrie Turk lists her favourite red lipsticks

Confirmed to Shop My Shelf which provides an inside look at the shelves of beauty industry leaders, Taylor’s makeup artist Lorrie Turk confirmed some of her favourite red lipsticks. Some are familiar within the TS beauty universe – hey Dragon Girl – some are new.

While Lorrie did not confirm that these are the red lipsticks she likes to use specifically on Taylor, as her longtime MUA it’s always nice to get official sources from her of her personal favourites.
