Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2013

Worn with: Arika Nerguiz heels

I’m not exaggerating when I say that my hands are shaking as I type this up.

I have every bit of respect to Taylor for doing this for us – her fans. This moment was purely just for us and I loved every minute of it. I hope we all remember and cherish this gown as one of the most momentous occasions in Taylor’s career.

Gucci Première gown

Worn with: Jimmy Choo sandals and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry

Chainmail, it was. Edgy, it was not. Taylor wore none of my original predictions nor my redacted prediction I originally posted for the Golden Globes. Instead, she selected this silver, sparkling Gucci gown.

As Taylor has never worn Gucci before I have to applaud her for wearing a new designer, particularly one with as much clout as Gucci. She looks so incredibly statuesque and – dare I say it – exudes a Nicole Kidman height of elegance and maturity. I’m slightly disappointed about the glitter factor as Taylor is universally known for her love of sparkly dresses but I’m pleased that she put her hair up in a ponytail so as not to compete with the neckline. She looks stunning – but no more so than she usually does.

Her beauty styling was perfect – including silver smokey eyes and a pretty pink lip. I’m also in love with her square-drop earrings and that she didn’t opt for anything other than a pair of rings. No other jewelry was required.

Zuhair Murad Resort 2013

Worn with: Bionda Castana heels and Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira jewelry

If you needed a casual reminder that Taylor Swift does – in fact – have legs that could go for days then you’re clearly not paying attention.

Legs aside, I unfortunately have to admit that the model wears the dress to far more sophisticated results than Taylor. As interesting as her Bionda platforms are, the strappy and undeniably sexy sandals from the lookbook are far more intriguing.

However, it’s that cinched bow belt that I’m really missing here. Especially if you consider the bow from those aforementioned ankle-tie heels that would match it perfectly. That, and the fact that I can’t quite get over the weird flounced skirt on either Taylor or the model.

Had this been one of Taylor’s body-con dresses like the floral Zuhair Murad dress she wore to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show or a mini fit-and-flare I would be more behind it. As is, I’m more focused on her amazing legs here and for the gown she’s due to wear tomorrow night at the awards ceremony.

What did you think of the dress, TSS-ers?

Taylor Swift Style – Reformation candid predictions

French Connection, ModCloth, Anthropologie and Free People. What do these brands have in common? Taylor Swift went through phases for each of these stores where she near-exclusively wore pieces from them. Now, she’s turned to vintage-inspired and eco-friendly recycling brand Reformation. So far, we’ve seen Taylor wear skirts (x, x) and dresses (x, x) from the brand.

Here’s a few of my predictions.

  • Primrose Dress – $198.00
    – If Taylor wanted to start wearing more schoolgirl inspired outfits (totally okay by me!) then this sexy bodycon/long-sleeve dress (a favourite silhouette of Taylor’s) would be the perfect choice. Check out that deep v-neck (another fave neckline for Taylor).
  • Dani Dress – $198.00
    – Taylor loves her prints. Among her favourites are stripes and polka dots. The mini length, floaty a-line and innate feminine quality of this dress would suit Taylor perfectly.
  • Ibiza Dress – $98.00
    – Another easy choice. Featured in a familiar silhouette to Taylor, she wore a similar striped dress last year so we know it’s a look that works for her.
  • Cambridge Dress – $218.00
    – This pick was just for me as I think the lace, the colour and the open back would look sultry and sexy on Taylor’s tall frame.

Love this post? Check out Taylor Swift Style’s other predictions (including for the Grammys this Sunday!) here.

What do you think TSS-ers? Are there any other Reformation items you could see Taylor in? Or has her love for the brand already been transferred somewhere else?

Reformation ‘Jam Dress’ – $218.00

Taylor was out and about in L.A. with her new friend actress Jaime King
(they met and partied together after the Golden Globes last week)
looking extremely ladylike and vintage in this Reformation white-trim
dress.

I’m on the fence with the overload of black in this look so
points to Taylor for putting a pop of colour into her outfit via a swipe
of bright lipstick. The lace trim and fit-and-flare silhouette offer a
very retro vibe familiar to both Taylor and the brand so I’m happy she
found a clothing store that perfectly caters to her. Am I the only one
getting simultaneous Old Hollywood/First Lady/Funeral vibes from this
dress?

Worn with: Ray-Ban Wayfarers and Dolce & Gabbana bag

Also worn: Saturday Night Live after party and via Instagram
