JW Anderson Spring 2020

Well this was a fun surprise to perk up my Sunday coffee. The styling throughout Taylor’s latest spread in British Vogue’s first issue of the new year is beautifully retro and a classic nod to the past.

This JW Anderson pink knit dress paired with the flicked ends of her hair, the brows, and those lips are all really working for Taylor.

Julien Macdonald Spring 2020 – custom gown

My predictions may have been wrong. But, frankly, I’m still the real winner here. Because Taylor Swift is wearing green.

GREEN.

GREEN!

GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN

Meeting me somewhere in the middle between what I thought may be a full-length moment despite her propensity for minis at this event, Taylor opted for a high-low gown with a thigh high slit.

If we want to nitpick, I prefer the neckline on the runway original and feel that a proper slit would have made for a cleaner look on her thigh. As presented, it looks like a random Grecian drape was added to the front of a micro mini dress.

But who are we kidding.

It’s green.

It’s strappy.

It’s sequinned.

This look is perfect and I won’t allow even myself to besmirch it.

Whether or not it was intentionally for Taylor Swift Style and myself — I see u Joseph. And I thank you for this moment of emerald beauty. It’s an even more gorgeous shade than her previous green moment at the AMAs all those years ago.

Funnily enough for a look given to us during the Lover era, it’s something that I very much would have expected had Taylor given us more opportunities to shine on the red carpet during the reputation era. And I’m very much in favour of it.

Bringing the fall vibes via this cozy PSL number. Is anyone else reminded of her Elizabeth and James cropped orange sweater from October 2016? Her repeated usage of grounding such a bold look with black accessories is also a lovely callback to that previous look which used black denim, boots, and bag to anchor the autumnal dose of burnt orange.

Worn with: Etro bag and Prada boots
