Magnolia Pearl ‘Sefi Oeuvre Slip’ – $400.00
My very first thought upon seeing this promo clip for SNTV was actually, “What in the evermore?”. Which turned out to be a spot-on initial impression as Taylor wore quite a lot of Magnolia Pearl vintage-inspired slips like this during promo for both folklore and evermore.
That side braid and long layered necklace though is peak Speak Now accessorizing 101.

Reem Acra Spring 2022
The Speak Now TV photoshoot continues to pull through with its thoughtful homages to the original cover. If you’ll recall, both the original front and back covers of Speak Now (2010) saw Taylor wear two of the designer’s soft, frothy gowns from their Spring 2007 collection.
This iteration is an equally soft, romantic, and whimsical pull from Spring 2022. What a beautiful closed loop.
Worn with: Capezio flats

Celia Kritharioti Spring 2023 Couture
My initial thought upon seeing this scene was Taylor being the ferryman of souls across the river Styx, particularly given all the other mythical references in the video.
It’s an interesting role for Taylor to step into and not only supports the ideas of karmic retribution and the afterlife, but Taylor is also no stranger to talking about rebirth and reincarnation. Here, she not only plays with another facet of what karma means for her and her life – she also positions herself as the arbiter of other people’s karma.

Erdem Spring 2023
I’ve seen many people compare this particular moment to a similar angle and facial expression from the “Blank Space” music video. And there is a certain housewife about to break vibe that you one can take away from this quick scene. But what I love the most is that, unlike the maneater parodizing of “Blank Space”, her world here is herself alone – in the comforting warmth and love of a cat.

On the (literal) flip side, for her Persephone, Queen of the Underworld look Taylor layers herself in gold jewelry (belts are vintage) and black drapery.

Azzi & Osta Spring/Summer 2023 Couture
For a song all about cheekily taking on the concept of fate, destiny, and celestial forces coming back to right past wrongs, it makes all the sense in the world that the video would open on a Grecian-inspired moment of Taylor in a glittering asymmetric gown.
From the drapery to the gathering on the left shoulder – it’s a beautiful modern reference to Themis – the goddess who personifies justice, divine order, and the balancing of the scales of life.
