It seems almost impossible that this friendship has spanned as long as it has (or that Selena really is 30 this year) – but we got adorable Taylena content as Taylor celebrated this momentous birthday with her dear friend in this mixed print dress by one of her favoured sustainable dress brands.

Celebrating 32nd birthday | New York City, NY | December 13, 2021

Julia Clancey ‘Lady Boogie Dress’ – $800.00

And that she was! A lady who boogies, that is. In photos posted to celebrate turning 32, Taylor wore a flouncey sequined one-shoulder design by Julia Clancey.

This makes the third dress in recent memory of Taylor favouring a one-shoulder design (the first a David Koma in the “Three Sad Virgins” skit on SNL and the second an Alexandre Vauthier as part of her SNL promo photoshoot). It’s fun to see her wearing new silhouettes and especially when they’re repeated in a short time period. Another unifying concept for all three dresses is the sequin – which isn’t new in Taylor’s world as she’s yet to meet a sparkly dress she hasn’t loved.

I loved the usage of colour throughout this music video. Taylor has always been excellent about conveying the language of colour through this album (and the ones beyond – reputation, anyone?).

This romantic floral shoulder-appliqué gown is definitely one of my favourites from the video.
