Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2012

Even though it isn’t, every time Taylor wears green it just feels like a personal present to myself.

While some may be thrown off by the colour served via Taylor’s matching bag and heels, I think they add a punch of springlike colour to an otherwise simple outfit. She could have gone a more typical route and paired these with her schoolgirl heeled oxfords or a chunky black pair of heels but I find the green refreshing.

Worn with: Missguided blazer + shorts, Lulufrost necklace and Prada heels

Elie Saab Spring 2015

The first word that came to the mind of many I’m sure was “mermaid” upon seeing Taylor’s ombre teal coloured Elie Saab gown created from a sheenlike fabric that emulated the shimmer of water.

I love the construction of the dress and the dramatic folds on the skirt, plus the colour is absolutely divine on Taylor. My favourite aspect would likely be the straps as they emulate the wraparound leather straps on Taylor’s 2009 Grammys Kaufmanfranco gown that remains to be one of my favourites she has worn to this event.

It probably won’t go down as one of my favourite looks from Taylor, but I can appreciate her continued love of mixing unique colour palettes for an unexpected twist as the presence of those fuchsia Giuseppe Zanotti’s undoubtedly make the look as interesting and unique as it is — as does the somewhat-no-longer-trendy mullet/high-low gown.

Had the gown been a full-length in its entirety and a simpler pair of strappy sandals (my preferred choice) been worn I think I would have loved it more. But styling it the way it is presented gives it those interesting talking points and the statement I’m sure Taylor intended.

Worn with: Lorraine Schwartz + Ofira jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti heels

Guess who is still actively dying from the fashion of this music video?

Yup. That’s me.

Taylor looks like the perfect manipulative black widow in this lace gown by Elie Saab.
