The Eras Tour | evermore Section | Version 2

Etro custom

For those begging for a fresh version of the evermore dress (which is one of two ensembles from the tour that has yet to receive a variation) – you’ll be delighted to know a new Marco de Vincenzo for Etro gown was brought to life at MetLife Night 1.

I love that this burgundy fil coupé dress has ruffled tiers that still speak to the original version of the dress while still having its own original elements like a flowier empire waist. This version feels more appropriate to some of the witch-like woodsy elements of evermore (and, dare I say, a tinsel-like vibe that feels seasonally appropriate to “tis the damn season”?) perhaps better than the original version which leans more street style-friendly in comparison to her other costuming.

The Eras Tour | evermore Section

Etro custom

It’s of zero surprise to me that this ruffled, tie-front dress that Taylor wears for the evermore section on tour is by Etro. You’ll recall me specifically name checking them as a point of reference for the designs of her folkmore sections as part of my TSS Predictions post. The Grammy performance really was a key jumping off point to nailing the bohemian goddess cottagecore look worthy of these albums visuals.

Etro ‘Adjustable Strap Satchel’ – no longer available

What a nice throwback to see this purse back in Taylor’s rotation! Taylor is a serial purse repeater and loves bringing back throwbacks or carrying a certain bag for months at a time. We last saw this particular Etro bag in October 2019 but it first made its debut back in July 2016.

Etro Fall 2020

While I definitely would not have said no to a pair of strappy heels (either a black or a tonal colour to coordinate with the suit) I respect that in New York in November, an enclosed boot to correspond with the fall weather grounds everything more nicely.

What I do absolutely love is this very rich seasonal velvet in this colour on Taylor. The piece-y bangs frame her face in such a lovely way here – though I do think a blotted berry lip stain could have taken this that little bit further.

Etro Custom Gown (pictured similar)

Taylor’s beautiful rich performance gown for her folklore/evermore medley at the 2021 Grammys is a custom fil coupé chiffon gown with paisley motifs and lace ruffles by Etro.

Truthfully my very first gut instinct upon seeing Taylor was: “How Florence Welch!”. This is definitely a dreamy boho gown I could see Florence rocking during a concert and I think it speaks beautifully to the music videos we’ve so far seen from the folkmore era.

The addition of the headpiece also neatly points to both the “willow” music video and the Fearless era, don’t you think?

Etro custom gown

While I was correct that Taylor would be dressed in a princess gown, a floral print such as this was not what I had predicted.

With this in mind, I find the drama and volume of the skirt to be beautiful in movement and in stillness and is perfect for the Globes. The open back is one that Taylor has also previously favoured at the Globes (in Donna Karan, 2013) and is a sensual touch to the simpler front. And the cutout is a fun, modern tweak.

However, I would strongly have preferred a solid colour or a different floral print if a print was necessary. Can we take a moment to pause and consider the impact of this gown rendered in a golden yellow or orange? As is this reads a bit tropical vacation to me.

What do you think of Taylor in Etro?

In the interest of full fashion landscape, model Karolina Kurkova recently wore a very similar pink Etro design to Cannes.
