Prada ‘Patent Leather Loafer Pumps’ – no longer available

As mentioned, I do appreciate the pop of red via the shoes here, especially in coordination with her signature red lip. They also feel like a ‘fun’ and fashun take on a typical business pump which I’m sure was the intent. My preference would have been a sleeker heel but I appreciate that Taylor is a longtime lover of an oxford/loafer pump.

What makes these shoes particularly interesting is they are from Prada’s Fall 2010 collection.

Hosting a talk at the Tribeca Film Festival for her work on the “All Too Well” short film I definitely expected a Business Babe suited moment – but this one is executed wonderfully. The vest sans shirt underneath keeps things sleek and simple and modern with no fuss.

While I would have chosen different shoes, I do appreciate the coordination of her signature red lip to them.

O Jour Fall 2015/16 heels – no longer available

By my best estimate, these heels derive from O Jour’s FW2015/16 collection – which is quite the archival pull. Even the brand itself is a reach back in history for me as she turned to this brand for their kitten heels in particular most often during the RED era and once in 2014.

To that end, while animal print in general is contentious amongst people in fashion I do love an animal print moment and I find the mixed medium of the heel here with the fun tassels to be unique and interesting. I like them with the sassy little LBD we know she’s wearing underneath her commencement robes. Leopard + black = classic combo, imo.

That said, I think given the majority of this event was photographed during the ceremony and worn with her purple grad robe that this was the opportunity for a classic, clean, sharp purple pump. Like a spicy Louboutin ‘So Kate’ in patent purple leather or a purple Casadei ‘Blade’. Or if a block heel was needed for the dirt(?) track portion of her entrance walk I would even take a simple black Jimmy Choo block heel pump or even a gold pump to hit on the tassel of her hat.

Well today was a momentous occasion for so many reasons. The most important being because we got to see that glowing smile in action and boy did it feel incredible to see her again!

I appreciated the modern but minimal bar earrings here, the statement diamond halo ring felt like the colour was trying to pay homage to the purple of her gown.

Etro Fall 2020

While I definitely would not have said no to a pair of strappy heels (either a black or a tonal colour to coordinate with the suit) I respect that in New York in November, an enclosed boot to correspond with the fall weather grounds everything more nicely.

What I do absolutely love is this very rich seasonal velvet in this colour on Taylor. The piece-y bangs frame her face in such a lovely way here – though I do think a blotted berry lip stain could have taken this that little bit further.

Taylor made an appearance at the premiere of her short film in NYC in the rich fall New York vibes we deserve. I like how the black boots coordinate with the contrast lapel on her blazer.

Lena Dunham’s wedding | London, England | September 25, 2021

Christopher Kane custom dress

Taylor, along with Tommy Dorfman and others, acted as bridesmaid at friend Lena Dunham’s wedding in London over the weekend.

The bride – who wore three custom Christopher Kane dresses – naturally had her bridesmaids fitted in complementary gowns from the designer.

According to Vogue the dresses were designed to match the 60s aesthetic Lena was going for to create an array of ‘disco ball’ inspired bridesmaids. Given that many of the bridesmaids were flying in for the wedding, some of the fittings were done the day of. Kane intentionally “chose … silhouette[s] that [were] flowy and didn’t require much alteration for each woman.”
