Dôen ‘Mandarin Dress in Sienna Champignon Floral’ – $228.00

Well this is a pleasant surprise. You may recall back when the Stella x Taylor collection first launched, I expressed disappointment that it was (essentially) a designer merch collection and not the capsule of ready-to-wear pieces I thought it would be. In particular, there was one dress in the original merchandising images that featured a Dôen dress and I had commented how lovely it would be to see Taylor wear this brand more. And here we are!

The ruffles, the delicate floral, the little buttons are all perfect and lovely for summer.

Get the look: Free People, $43.00

Lou & Grey ‘Cozy Jersey Rugby Top’ – $59.50 (sold out)

Eagle-eyed TSSers will remember this striped rugby tee from an online appearance last month. That said, I do doubt this image and the Grad Class 2020 video were shot on the exact same day — but an example of Taylor pulling directly from her existing closet.

Worn with: Free People pants

Also worn: Dear Class of 2020

Get the look: AE, $24.97

Stella McCartney ‘Oversized Prince of Wales Checked Wool Coat’ –  $2,460.00 $984.00

Of the many things about the folklore era (did you just get chills? I just got chills) that I’m excited and intrigued by is its production during quarantine. Taylor noted herself in the very least for the “cardigan” music video that she was responsible for her own styling including makeup and hair. This is obviously a huge shift from the development of her previous content where her image was carefully filtered through conscious efforts by her professional styling team through her fashion and hair/beauty.

As a result, I’ve already made note of a few pieces in the folklore shoot that have made previous appearances in Taylor’s life. My likely assumption is because she predominantly made pulls from her own personal, existing closet. The coat, for example, featured on the cover of the new album is a Stella piece first seen in December 2019 while she was in London.

Also worn: Leaving Stella McCartney’s workshop

Get the look: Nordstrom Rack, $36.55
