Gucci Spring 2020
If you were around when I first published my then-TS70s predictions post you know that I had hoped that what we came to know as Lover would be filled with looks just like this: A nod to 70s style, with doses of brown and suede but made modern. In fact, a direct quote:
“Fringe, but tempered with metallic heels. Suede, paired with OTK boots.”
Delighted to see this presented right on the money, courtesy of Gucci. I know many say this often, but I typically refrain from this phrase. However, it couldn’t be more fitting here that Taylor really jazzes up this runway look. The skinny belt, hair, and jewels plus that burnt terracotta background is perfection.
And that zing of green makes my heart sing.
Get the look: Michael Kors top, $58.50; HSN skirt, $41.90

JW Anderson Spring 2020
Well this was a fun surprise to perk up my Sunday coffee. The styling throughout Taylor’s latest spread in British Vogue’s first issue of the new year is beautifully retro and a classic nod to the past.
This JW Anderson pink knit dress paired with the flicked ends of her hair, the brows, and those lips are all really working for Taylor.

Casadei ‘Blade Elastic Girl Boots’ – $1,050.00 $735.00
Had we been served this look during the rep era, everything about this look (from the pairing of a thigh-high slit emerald green gown with OTK boots) would not have surprised me in the slightest. But being presented with it during the Lover era is an interesting twist I never expected.
Even given that, I’m not typically one to turn my nose at a thigh high boot nor a strappy sandal — both in equal measure. However, between the two silhouettes, I think a strappy sandal would have given that amazing slit more of an impact.
Worn with: Julien Macdonald gown
Get the look: ASOS, $79.50
