Oscar de la Renta ‘Floral Embroidered Tulle Mini Dress’ – $8,990.00

While none of my predictions included a mini (I definitely had an elegant full-length gown in mind for this big night), I did accurately predict the brand so I’ll take a partial win for that.

My predictions also noted that there was a possibility for the ‘fit to reference Lover, and I definitely think this lush floral dress would not have been out of place during that time. Taylor looks like she walked out of a flower field and the petal pink soft makeup is the perfect complement.

It’s romantic, it’s whimsical, and while being colourful it still somehow neatly bridges Lover to folklore in a very lovely way. The changes made to it from the original runway presentation include floaty cuffs and a slightly longer hem.

I could easily see this dress being worn to the AMAs (where Taylor has a stronger history of wearing minis), so while I’m still mentally attached to the concept of a long, elegant and impactful gown, this short and sweet mini as-is is very beautiful and also notably is an appropriate choice given the timeshift of the awards ceremony to be situated more in the springtime.

Worn with: Cathy Waterman earrings + rings and Christian Louboutin sandals

Get the look: EFINNY dress, $28.99

Lorraine Schwartz jewelry

Flashback to this golden moment for Taylor back at the 2012 Grammys. She wore a simple pair of yellow gold drop earrings by Lorraine Schwartz and a single statement ring. With that gown, she didn’t need much.

As a blogger, with Tay having her hair slicked back it made finding a great pic and completely clear shot of those earrings a breeze. Yay!

Worn with: Zuhair Murad gown and Prada heels

Ofira pave bands (right hand)
Lorraine Schwartz earrings, choker and ring (left hand)

I actually think Taylor’s jewels and makeup are my favourite parts of her ensemble. Provided by her mainstay jewelers Ofira and Lorraine Schwartz, I cannot get enough of that multi-coloured choker and those beautiful purple stone earrings!

Her makeup artist Lorrie Turk also made my dreams come true with that orange red matte lip, glowy skin and beautiful eyeshadow. Her accessories and beauty look complement her outfit perfectly (even if the outfit itself isn’t going to be an all-time fave of mine).

Stuart Weitzman ‘Sultry Sandal in Silver’ – $435.00

As they were practically the unofficial shoe sponsor of The 1989 Tour, it’s a perfect closer to the era that Taylor wear one more pair of Weitzman sandals to the red carpet. These ones a golden metallic version of the pictured ‘Sultry’ sandal.

Atelier Versace dress

It’s no surprise that to end out the Era of the Crop Top, she would go all out for music’s biggest night in this bold and vibrant bandeau and maxi skirt by Versace.

My initial impression was “Malibu Barbie Anna Wintour”

What came shortly after was me thinking that I came this||close to predicting an extremely similar silhouette by J. Mendel. And my third impression was HAH. I finally landed a correct brand guess from my prediction post!

Overall, I love that she went for it in terms of colour (no metallics! yay!) but would have preferred the skirt in a different colour + cut and different material as the fuchsia and sheen of the skirt are both giving me hard no vibes. As is, it’s like her last year’s Elie Saab gown got given a new colour treatment and slashed at the waist.
