Jessica Jones x Joseph Cassell custom

While I had imagined that Taylor’s fries costume would have been created by Moschino, the creator behind the burger look that Katy Perry had originally debuted at this year’s Met Gala, it was actually crafted by Taylor’s own stylist and long-time costume designer Jessica Jones.

Officially, it’s nice to see that the two of them have put fries before guys.

Worn with: Opening Ceremony x Buffalo London sandals

Joseph Cassell/Jessica Jones custom ensemble

As has been the case for all her performance outfits, Taylor’s rainbow burst latest was from the mind of Jessica Jones — this time in close partnership with Taylor’s stylist Joseph.

While I love the commitment to making a statement at the outset of Pride Month, I would have personally opted for the fringe rainbow jacket and perhaps a pair of high waisted white denim. As-is, it feels like it veers far too strongly into a cheesy Crayola wonderland.

But if I could only make two changes it would be to 1) Remove the lace up corsetry detail. Which, in my opinion, was much better employed in this svelte and intentionally sexy reputation-era look during last year’s Biggest Weekend performance. Rendered in this technicolour palette and paired with a basic tee feels off-putting and incongruous. 2) Change those chunky sneakers for her go-to pair of custom Stuart Weitzmans Niki boots. I’ve never been a fan of the latest clunky sneaker trend.

Worn with: Stella McCartney sneakers

FYI: Brendon Urie is wearing a Donna Karan ‘Pride’ tee ($39.50) during the concert.

Jessica Jones/Joseph Cassell custom dress

Taylor’s stylist and resident tour costume designer came together to design this beautiful, fringed, one-shoulder mini dress for her debut performance of “ME!”. I love the colours at play here and think they’re a perfect cotton candy dream.

Fun Fact: Brendon is also rocking a custom design by Jessica and Joseph.

Joseph Cassell custom

The last of the “Style” outfits. FINALLY.

This colourful rainbow fish two-piece was custom created for Taylor by none other than her amazingly fabulous stylist Joseph Cassell.

Joseph also created some custom pieces for Taylor on the previous tour as well for guest artist stints like this one on October 3 in Toronto, Canada when Charli XCX made an appearance.

Of Swift’s look at the 2014 VMAs, Cassell says, “I think people were expecting a gown, so when she wore Mary Katrantzou’s alphabet-themed romper, a collective gasp was tweeted and Instagrammed — #legsfordays.
