Oscar de la Renta ‘Embellished Silk-Faille Coat’ – $5347.00

Prior to Taylor arriving at the Met Gala later that night where she also wore a custom Oscar gown, she layered this embellished-collar silk coat by the brand as she left her hotel room.

It’s a shame we didn’t get full body HQs of her wearing this coat.

Armani Jeans ‘Asymmetrical Zip Front Trench’ – $495.00

I loved how chic and leggy Taylor looked here. An asymmetrical, short trench that she wore loose without the belt were styled only with the perfect strappy sandals I’ve always wanted her to wear.

Nanette Lepore ‘Majorelle Coat’ – no longer available

And it comes back full circle. Taylor wore this super pretty red coat by Nanette Lepore with oxford heels she recently wore in a different colour. Taylor also recycled this coat after wearing it two months prior in Paris.

So I’m saying it now: This outfit is going to be in my Top Outfits of 2014.

I’ve talked about my love of circle skirts and my adoration for black on black on black clothing so it didn’t take a genius to point out that I could have styled this outfit for Taylor personally.

Part of me is yearning for a pop of red on her lips, but I’m still in awe of the simple — yet girly/edgy — chicness of this outfit. Perfection.

Katherine Hooker ‘Cape Coat’ – £775.00 (red)

I personally never thought I would see this coat again, but boy does it sure bring back memories to a few winters ago.

I love this bright colour green against the pretty spring blue dress – a brightly coloured coat is a great way to add interest to any outfit. Taylor’s original coat is from Katherine Hooker’s Winter 2012 collection and is available to custom-order from the brand for £960.
