Dorothee Schumacher ‘Graphic Statement Jacket’ – $1,085.00
Dorothee Schumacher ‘Sleeveless Jacquard Top’ – $280.00
Dorothee Schumacher ‘Graphic Statement Flared Pants’ – $520.00

I will always love a suited moment and I think there are so many fun aspects to this that I love. The black and white palette, the high neck of the top, and the general chevron pattern.

For a television moment, I feel like this print overload could come across as a bit dizzying and overwhelming. And sure, a simple swap of the top to a black one would have pared back the print overload enough.

But I think she actually pulls off this print well – and it’s also so fun but with a slightly retro 70s nod with the power shoulder and flared shape of the pants. By creating a big block of pattern throughout her entire body that is almost overwhelming in its graphic overload – it actually forces you to look at her face for a respite. And I kind of love that in the craziness if you needed a second of calm for your eyes, that her face is where you need to rest to get it – especially because that high neckline stops just at her jaw.

Truthfully my only major complaint is that she should have quickly unbuttoned her jacket when going to sit down. Not just for a more comfortable seating experience for her, but also a cleaner line for still images.

Our last midnight before Midnights… | October 20, 2022

Urban Outfitters ‘BDG High Waisted Baggy Corduroy Pant’ – sold out (similar linked)

Though this journey hasn’t even fully begun yet, I want to say that I’ve had the most rewarding and delightful time documenting the Midnights fashun we’ve seen thus far.

In case you missed it, back when we were quaintly calling Lover ‘TS7’, I made an entire prediction post dreaming of a crochet-filled, 70s-inspired, corduroy and paisley, dreamy retro era supported by a valiant return to media, interviews, and appearances.

Quoting that post now feels like a true full circle moment.

“Colour palettes ranging from burnt terracottas to pastels to maximalist super saturated patchwork colours. The colours of a dying sunset and the earth. Coming back to ground and nature. A representation of her coming back to “roots” — but making it Taylor … Suede, paired with OTK boots. High waisted denim, boldly patterned and colourful sweaters.”

It’s been a delight—and we’re truly only at the starting line. I look forward to listening to this album in just a day’s time and for the rest of this era to unfold. Including many more corduroy pieces (hopefully still available for sale) like this one to come.

BP. ‘Wide Leg Stretch Cotton Corduroy Pants’ – $55.00 (sold out)

As Taylor knows, details are everything. I love the way the warm tones of the chevron in her top play nicely with these mustard cords she opted to wear. That distinctive pocket detail attaching to belt loops make this one a little more unique.

2022 Tribeca Film Festival | New York City, NY | June 11, 2022

Max Mara ‘Pinstriped Divo Waistcoat’ – $645.00
Max Mara ‘Pinstriped Matilde Trousers’ – $925.00

Hosting a talk at the Tribeca Film Festival for her work on the “All Too Well” short film I definitely expected a Business Babe suited moment – but this one is executed wonderfully. The vest sans shirt underneath keeps things sleek and simple and modern with no fuss.

While I would have chosen different shoes, I do appreciate the coordination of her signature red lip to them.

IRO Paris ‘Bettina Belted Wool Tapered Pants’ – $460.00 $270.00

While the belt these pants originally come with would have been nice to see I ultimately don’t think I miss the tie-waist and can appreciate the overall minimal outfit as presented.

Area ‘Cropped Crystal Embellished Wool Blend Blazer’ – $1,580.00
Area ‘Crystal Slit Trousers’ – $1,150.00

I absolutely love that at first glance this appears to be a polished business-like plaid suit set. But upon second glance there’s crystal embellishments, a cropped midriff, and … oh, yeah. Slits in the ass. For a literal cheeky moment. I’m obsessed.
