NPR Tiny Desk performance | October 10, 2019
Cinq A Sept ‘Estelle One-Button Check Blazer with Embroidery’ – $595.00
Cinq A Sept ‘Eliza Wide Leg Check Pants’ – $395.00
As promised, full thoughts now that we have some stunning HQs. This heart-embroidered menswear-inspired suit set is one of the most Taylor and Lover-appropriate lewks we’ve been served this era thus far.
It combines the two themes that we have been introduced to thus far: Pastels, hearts, and the reconnection Taylor has felt to her vulnerable singer-songwriter side — but packaged in a very “The Man”-friendly corporate silhouette. It’s truly perfect. Excellent job done here, Joseph.
Taylor has been notably moving away from the ruffles, the frill, and the priss of earlier Lover days style into a more (pun intended) tailored approach. I expanded upon this here but the continued pattern of suiting is clearly purposeful narrative that Taylor is wanting to convey this era. Her obvious ease during this performance, and the fact that she did this completely solo, is made even more commanding by this coordinated blazer and wide-legged pant set by Cinq A Sept. it’s also her second foray into wide-legged pants and between the two this is far stronger in my eyes.
Worn with: Andamane bodysuit
Get the look: H&M, $34.99

Performing “False God” on Saturday Night Live | October 5, 2019
Libertine ‘Shanghai Geometric Pants’ – $3,000.00
I like this outfit mix (oversized blazer, fitted bodysuit, flare pants) in theory but perhaps if the pants were completely sequinned or were embellished in a different pattern.
The messy bun for once is actually a great choice to add to the slinky, sensual vibes of “False God”.
For those who follow TSSQ, ironically the wine pants I recommended yesterday prior to the performance going live are by this same brand. So TSSQ-ers got a tiny prediction accuracy post.
Worn with: Bond Eye Jewelry earrings, Ambush blazer, and Alice + Olivia bodysuit
