Performing “False God” on Saturday Night Live | October 5, 2019

Libertine ‘Shanghai Geometric Pants’ – $3,000.00

I like this outfit mix (oversized blazer, fitted bodysuit, flare pants) in theory but perhaps if the pants were completely sequinned or were embellished in a different pattern. 

The messy bun for once is actually a great choice to add to the slinky, sensual vibes of “False God”. 

For those who follow TSSQ, ironically the wine pants I recommended yesterday prior to the performance going live are by this same brand. So TSSQ-ers got a tiny prediction accuracy post.

It’s incredibly interesting how post Lover-release, Taylor has been implementing even more fashion seemingly inspired by “The Man” than prior to its release. Pre-release style ruffles, girlish silhouettes, pastel palettes, and mermaid-scaled sequins dominated her fashion choices. But in this post-release world, we’re being blessed with a bevy of sharply cut suits in a variety of colours and materials. 

The distinction is incredibly fascinating and I look forward to continuing to see how her style develops from here for this era.

Monique Lhuillier ‘High-Waisted Sequin Tapered Joggers’ – $1,295.00 (sold out)

As evidenced by the Lover’s Lounge livestream, Taylor’s exact joggers are these tie cuff ones by Monique Lhuillier – the second time this brand has shown up in a Lover-era music video. The first, of course, being the very first music video post of the era from “ME!”. 

I actually really like the disco club vibe of this outfit. The lazily tied loose sequin pants, the hair, earrings, and of course Stella outerwear. I like it.

Chanel Fall 2019 pants

Again, there’s so much tension and movement in this photo. Plus that headtilt and search to bask in a form of light. I want to hope that this is a symbolic representation of Taylor and the breaks of sun peeking through the stormclouds that must have been her hivemind when writing for Lover.

That said, these Audrey vibes are what I’m getting from this photo.
