Versace custom ensemble


To continue the theme of all things Versace, her performance ensemble was also a custom piece by the Italian fashion house. The purple and gold combination screams Wonder Woman meets royalty, no?

Saint Laurent ‘Ankle Wrap Boot’ – $1,395.00 $558.00

I am typically a fan of any kind of shoe that incorporates an ankle tie detail of some kind. And I do think these boots are fierce on their own (and yes it appears that Taylor opted for a higher shaft height on her specific pair) I would have preferred to see this with something more simple so as not to compete with the statement their metallic gold colour makes.

Saint Laurent ‘Ankle Wrap Boot’ – $1,395.00 $558.00

I am typically a fan of any kind of shoe that incorporates an ankle tie detail of some kind. And I do think these boots are fierce on their own (and yes it appears that Taylor opted for a higher shaft height on her specific pair) I would have preferred to see this with something more simple so as not to compete with the statement their metallic gold colour makes.

Stella McCartney ‘Kiera Dotted Jumpsuit’ – $2,495.00

I suspect a common thread of feedback on this lewk will be … “It’s ugly until Taylor Swift decides it’s not” but I would like to argue that this wasn’t a well thought-out look full stop. The boots, while fierce on their own, don’t tie in to any part of the jumpsuit, and I feel like a more complementary colour could have been chosen given that this performance was going to be photographed and the multicolour base of the jumpsuit doesn’t tie into the guitar in her lap either. 

A red, coral, or even cream look would have made for a nicer base layer in my opinion. 

If I could fix what we’ve been given, it would be to change out the shoes for at least a black or even pink pair.

Jessica Jones custom shorts

Jessica’s continued presence as part of Taylor’s performancewear seems to be a good indicator to me that we will continue to see her designs (likely in addition to Stella McCartney’s) on the upcoming Lover Tour.
