The RED Tour | Begin Again | [5/11]

Taylor Guitars ‘Grand Auditorium Custom Guitar’ – $9318.00+

This is one of Taylor’s most famous guitars and has been around since the beginning of her career. It features her signature koa wood as well as Byzantine inlay in the neck and a Florentine cutaway.

A fun fact: Taylor actually owns two of these custom guitars. The first one hasn’t been seen for about two years now. You can see it in her Elle magazine spread from 2010 and her “Ours” CMA performance from 2011. It differs from the one she’s been playing on tour (Speak Now Tour and RED Tour) in two major ways. Firstly, by the wood pattern (the first one looks more like a ‘v’ whereas the second version has a straight horizontal pattern) and secondly, by the tuning pegs (the first one has black pegs and the second version has gold ones).

Worn with: Michael Kors sweater and Joie pants

Also worn: Speak Now World Tour

The RED Tour | Surprise Song | [5/11] | Version 3

Taylor Guitars ‘Trans Red 614ce’ – $3998.00

This is one of the newer acoustics that Taylor has acquired. This acoustic is composed of maple and has an extremely bright, resonant tone to it that is immediately distinctive in the live setting.

I know that I have all of the surprise songs in my iTunes and I can immediately pick out the high tones from this guitar.
