Gant ‘Shearling Jacket’ – $1,700.00
Guest in Residence ‘Waffle Polo in Hunter’ – $445
.00 (sold out)
Miu Miu ‘Pleated Check Mini Skirt’ – sold out
Calzedonia ‘Sheer 40 Denier Tights’ – $10.00 $5.00 (on sale) [Thanks Anon!]
Saint Laurent ‘Le 5 à 7 Hobo Bag’ – $2,650.00
Reformation ‘River Boot’ – $478.00

Taylor’s love of Gant’s outerwear continues – this time in an oversized shearling jacket that’s a spin on a classic aviator style and feels very cozy wintery and stands as a nice proportional contrast to her (repeat) Miu Miu skirt we previously saw her wear while on a date with Travis in Argentina when one of her shows was rained out and postponed. Taylor also owns this particular mini in another plaid check print.

One thing that I feel like Taylor does often is create interesting, unexpected, colour palettes with her outfits. It’s something she’s done for a long time that feels very classically ‘her’. If it were me, I would have done a sandwich style moment and opted either for the same camel tone as her Saint Laurent bag in both her carry item and boots or perhaps even both a dark chocolate brown to tie into the piping on her Gant jacket. As-is, her ‘ruby’ Reformation boots create a colour (albeit Christmas-y) contrast.

Reformation ‘Lolita Platform Loafer’ – $348.00

Based on Taylor’s longtime love of the brand, my best guess from photos is Taylor’s platform loafers are these by Reformation.

The combination of a pleated skirt and a heeled loafer bring me back to Speak Now days for Taylor – it’s a youthful leaning fashion combination for Taylor that feels core to her feminine style and I love here that there’s an athletic twist to her tried and true schoolgirl style.

Reformation ‘Radlee Knit Dress’ – $98.00

I love the fall-forward palette here (Taylor does fall fashion so well). Recognizing that the duster/long denim jacket here is the #fashun moment and that its proportion balances out the tall boots with the short dress, I wonder if in terms of silhouette and overall colour palette a washed black denim jacket (oversized) would have played better.

Or even a long wool camel coat for those fall leaves vibes.

Reformation ‘Amira Slingback Loafers’ – $248.00

Another example of Taylor combining her typical style with current trends. Lug sole loafers and this type of slingback take on a chunky loafer are popular as of late and I like the overall cohesive attempt to coordinate grounding black pieces with our first shot of true, vibrant colour in some time!

Reformation ‘Cashmere Polo Sweater’ – $168.00

For me, one of the most fun things about album rollout is picking up repeat patterns and motifs in Taylor’s fashion. The items and silhouettes and little details that feel special to that era and to that time. For RED it might be a kitten heel. For 1989 it’s probably a crop top. You get the gist.

Sometimes those elements aren’t as seamless in transitioning to a ‘normal persons’ wardrobe in their everyday life. But as someone who has always loved a blazer, loved structure, loved the polish of an oxford button up, or the strong lapel of a coat—the recurring detail of collars in her Midnights fashion in so many different ways has been so fun to see continue to crop up.
