One thing that I consider signature to Taylor’s style is not only her penchant for accessible brands (Aritzia, Free People, Urban Outfitters) but that she often will rewear pieces, shop vintage, or source items from small/independent brands.

Like this Boston-based, female-run legging company. This particular textured print is one of their signatures.

Garland ‘70s Stroller Sweater Set’ – no longer available

One of the most hotly requested items from the Midnights era was Taylor’s outfit worn while cheekily announcing the title of the song “Karma”. I had long suspected that a lot of missing pieces were vintage – which this striped burnout ringer tank is! But not only is it vintage, it’s actually circa the 70s which has been a strong consistent aesthetic theme for Midnights.

Taylor has always loved vintage clothes (hello, RED [2012]). But for me this specificity and attention to detail feels very touching and fun. It reminds me of Taylor’s decision to source and only use instruments for “Carolina” that were made in the time period the book is set in.
