Stella McCartney – not yet available

Individually, I don’t dislike any of the pieces here. And if you know anything about me, you may have guessed that those strappy minimalist sandals were where my eyes immediately zoomed and loved.

But together? To me, none of these pieces speak to one another. There is no harmony or connection between a burgundy sequinned turtleneck, zippered khaki and hot pink pants, and chain t strap sandals. It was a disjointed lewk for me, personally.

That said, I think just one switch out those pants to a pair of leather shorts like these YSL ones Taylor previously wore would have helped immensely.

As I personally suspected upon seeing the images, according to an article via People, Taylor styled herself — hair and makeup included.

Stella McCartney ‘Oversized Prince of Wales Checked Wool Coat’ –  $2,460.00 $984.00

Of the many things about the folklore era (did you just get chills? I just got chills) that I’m excited and intrigued by is its production during quarantine. Taylor noted herself in the very least for the “cardigan” music video that she was responsible for her own styling including makeup and hair. This is obviously a huge shift from the development of her previous content where her image was carefully filtered through conscious efforts by her professional styling team through her fashion and hair/beauty.

As a result, I’ve already made note of a few pieces in the folklore shoot that have made previous appearances in Taylor’s life. My likely assumption is because she predominantly made pulls from her own personal, existing closet. The coat, for example, featured on the cover of the new album is a Stella piece first seen in December 2019 while she was in London.

Also worn: Leaving Stella McCartney’s workshop

Get the look: Nordstrom Rack, $36.55

Stella McCartney ‘Silk Blend Fil Coupé Mini Dress’ – $2,130.00

Oh this is incredibly lovely. I also know it’s contentious but I love the combination of pink with red. Such a fun combo and I love this floaty boho bell sleeve dress. Which is also perfectly on brand given it’s Stella McCartney.

Worn with: Christian Louboutin sandals

Get the look: Free People, $97.00
