Taylor Swift Style – 2016 Grammys

Alright. Here we go. I swear, with each passing awards ceremony I try to cut it closer and closer with these predictions.

The
even-yeared Grammys for Taylor usually signify the beginning cusp of a
new aesthetic for the coming era. But with TS6 being an uncertain
release for the fall of this year, I wasn’t sure what theme to go with.

What immediately struck me, however, was sharp tailoring and a more mature style.

So here we go!

  • Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2016
    I
couldn’t shake the idea of Taylor potentially wearing something more
tailored, sexy, and mature. I found that completely encapsulated in this
v-neck jumpsuit by Alexandre Vauthier. The belting around the waist
    sealed it for me.
I’d love to see this styled with a serious smoky eye and a pair of Sophia Webster wing heels.
  • Versace Spring 2016
The idea of Taylor wearing a pared down suit to the red carpet has come to me before. Particularly in the form of this red Alexandre Vauthier suit
I predicted for the Brits last year that still to this day I cannot get
out of my mind. This military green shade of green with a bandeau would
make such a statement I don’t know what I’d do with myself.
Styled with slicked back hair, a thin body chain and gorgeous earrings would be the finishing touches.
  • Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2016
    I
hemmed and hawed over this slot for about … a few hours. Quite
literally as I am typing this up, I just switched this dress so talk
about last minute. What originally took up space here was this J. Mendel Spring 2016 flowy piece.
But my desire to choose something more mature over something “expected”
won out over wanting to provide a more palatable option to you TSS-ers.

I picked this gown because of its simplicity, because of its
colour, and because I think it could symbolize a new mature beginning.
  • Marc Jacobs Spring 2016
I can’t get over how fierce this gown is. I love the colour, the flow, how amazing Taylor’s legs would look in it and how different it is from anything she’s ever worn. It’s like a fairy princess that tore her way through a thorny forest and all that remains of her dress is this deconstructed sheer navy gown.

My other runners-up for the evening include this white Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2016 gown (I just love the subtle skin-baring detail at the torso), this Spring 2016 Bibhu Mohapatra gown with an interesting neckline, and this lovely and haunting Vionnet Spring 2016 black gown.

What do you think of my choices, TSS-ers? Do you have a favourite, or do you have another designer you think Taylor will wear on Monday night?

— Veering completely left, instead of an elegant design as many of you thought my choices should have reflected, Taylor wore a hot pink and orange two-piece by Atelier Versace.

TAYLOR SWIFT STYLE – FLASHBACK FEBRUARY

By request and due to Taylor’s general inactivity while she’s having some well-deserved rest, I’m introducing an entire month of flashbacks. I’ve been stockpiling IDs over the years and now is the time to post them.

Some are performance IDs of Taylor in her early formative years, others are more recent (think some lusted-after items from the 1989 photoshoot). I can’t wait to share all of these posts with you over the next month and enjoy looking back on how Taylor’s fashion has evolved over the years!

Hope you guys enjoy the month long feature, and let me know at @taylorswiftstylequestions if there is anything specific you’d like to see or how you feel about TSS Flashback February.

Happy New Year TSS-ers/TSS 2015 Outfits Fan Vote

Hello my lovely TSS-ers! I meant to post the results of the Favourite Outfits Fan Vote yesterday, but real life kind of got away from me!

I wanted to double this result post as a double wish to all of you that 2016 is an excellent year filled with love, friends, and fashion! It’s been so much fun documenting Taylor’s style this past year (as it always is) and watching how her fashion continues to evolve. It’s been four years since I created this blog and I so look forward to another style-filled 2016! Thank you all for your endless support of myself and of TSS. It means absolutely everything!

And now without further ado, the TSS 2015 Outfits Fan Vote!

Taylor’s Elie Saab at the Grammys and her beautiful yellow Jenny Packham gown at the Golden Globes were both landslide wins in their respective categories, but it was the photoshoots category that for awhile there was a three-way tie. Ultimately, you chose Taylor’s Vogue photoshoot with Karlie as your ultimate winner, though it was a tight race!

In the candids category, there was a flurry of competition but these five were your winners (in descending order). You all couldn’t get enough of her purple Free People lace dress that a lot of you voted for as the “Speak Now era dress in 2015″. Many more loved her Tinseltown overalls outfit and called it her “stand out iconic moment of 2015.” Others still couldn’t get over the Charlotte Olympia kitty heels she wore on her date with Calvin Harris in Los Angeles. There were also many of you who humourously accidentally listed 2014 outfits as your favourite ensemble of 2015. Funnily enough, there were many votes for the “Paddington Bear” outfit.

For fun, I’ll also include your runner-ups!

FAN VOTE RUNNER-UPS:

Award: Reem Acra @ Academy of Country Music Awards
Event: Rachel Zoe @ Keds Style Event
Photoshoot: Vanity Fair

I hope you all enjoyed the Favourite Outfits of 2015 list. Did your favourite make it into the Fan Vote?

Candid — December 13, Melbourne + Los Angeles

Schoolgirl perfection. One thing that has been a constant in Taylor’s style throughout the eras is her love of the girly and, more specifically, her love of the schoolgirly. In the past, that style has been seen in the form of high-heeled oxfords, knee-high socks, emblem blazers, and plaid. Here, she wears it effortlessly with a red plaid skort paired with a navy sweater and some awesome oxblood loafers.

Her best accessory here is her legs, obvs.

If
you’ve been around TSS for long enough, you know that I am a sucker for
an all-black outfit. Especially when it includes a leather jacket and
heels. Taylor fulfilled both of those soft spots for me when she left a
restaurant in L.A. looking endlessly chic in this monochrome black
outfit which consisted of a very cool knit waterfall leather jacket by
525 America.
