Photoshoot — Vogue Australia

It only took me a second to know from this photoshoot that it would be included in this year-end list.

The combination of peekaboo demure cotton bras with high-fashion couture gowns created a jarring blend of innocent sex appeal that I just loved. Plus the colour palette throughout the shoot (soft purples, pale blues, pinks, and pastels) were so feminine but set into womanly couture designs.

Iconic. That’s what this shoot is. I never actually thought that Taylor would ever share the cover with Karlie Kloss, but she did and the spread that followed was just as amazing. My favourite outfits would have to be the feathery Oscar de la Renta crop top and full-length skirt (both Taylor and Karlie share a tight bond over the late designer), the desert bohemian brown suede Alberta Ferretti and the sweet and floral Michael Kors top and skirt.

Music Video — “Wildest Dreams”

Unfortunately, this glorious yellow gown from the “Wildest Dreams” music video has thus far gone unfound but it would be wrong to not include it on the Favourite Outfits of the Year list because any chance to see Taylor in yellow is a worthy moment to remember. Especially when it comes in the form of a silk halter gown like this one.

Music Video — “Style”

Though, ironically, fashion wasn’t the primary driving force in the “Style” music video, I still do harbour love over this beautiful lace dress that Taylor (in typical Swift Style) wore backwards for the video. So that its original plunging neckline design fell instead to expose her back.
Its appearance in the music video was beautiful, haunting and had a lovely vintage-vibe to it.

Tour — “I Know Places”/”All You Had To Do Was Stay”

I know that this one will be received happily by some, and not so happily by others. I think this was the outfit that drew the most contention and warring sides. Some love it and think it’s daring, some hate it and think it’s tacky. Others still think some tweaks in terms of colour or fit could have been made to make the outfit a bit more seamless. I, personally, LOVE the thigh highs.
