Taylor Swift Style – 2015 Brits
By popular demand, you guys seem to keep wanting more predictions post and of course I’m going to oblige.
The last time Taylor attended the Brits back in 2013 we saw her in a super edgy black gown by Elie Saab, To pay homage to her edgier London style, my choices reflect that.
- Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015
It has been a long while since Taylor wowed us in a menswear suit (think back to 2012’s white J. Mendel at the MTV VMAs). Now that Taylor is hotter and more confident than ever, I think it’s time that she rock something sexy and edgy like this bright red two piece from Alexandre Vauthier. She can add a black or even white bandeau underneath the blazer to make the look more conservative.
Minimalist sandals, light bronzed eyes and skin, pin-straight hair and maybe a body chain, ear cuffs and dark mani would solidify this killer look. - Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2015
There’s something both pretty (the romantic cap sleeves and swathy skirt) as well as sexy (the peekaboo gradient effect of the metallic embellishments) about this Pamella Roland gown that I think Taylor could totally rock.
Silver smoky eyes and maybe a plum lip would finish this look off. - Andrew Gn Pre-Fall 2015
This dress feels like a statement maker. I love the silhouette and the embellishments on the bodice that seem to signify a burning fire within which I think encapsulates Taylor’s more confident persona this era.
A cocktail ring to complement the dress’ embellishments and perhaps even an orange lip would complete this dress. - J. Mendel Fall 2015
J. Mendel is a standby favourite brand for Taylor, though it’s been awhile since she’s actually worn a full-fledged gown by the designer on a red carpet. This dress combines sexy with elegance and a little bit of a nod to the future via those silver inserts.
Black stone earrings, cat eye and a light red lipstain plus a statement pair of heels would finish it off.
Runners-Up:
- I adored this Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2015 gown so much and I think Taylor would absolutely SLAY in it. Unfortunately, I think it’s too similar to her previous Elie Saab gown for it to be an option. But just picture her in it?
- I also adored this Jonathan Simkhai Pre-Fall 2015 jumpsuit and it’s a look I think Taylor would absolutely rock but it’s perhaps too casual for this event. I can definitely imagine her in it for another red carpet, though!
What do you think of my choices, TSS-ers? Are there any other looks you can see Taylor rock for the Brits on Feb. 25?
— For the 2015 BRITS, Taylor selected an intricate dragon-back design by Roberto Cavalli.

Taylor Swift Style – 2015 Grammy Awards
It’s that time again — awards season!
Normally, when I do these super fun predictions posts I always try to keep Taylor’s actual style in mind. But the theme for this week’s prediction is “Wildest Dreams."
Basically? I disregarded everything and picked gowns that I love and would die to see Taylor in.
- Cushnie Et Ochs Resort 2015
Jenna Dewan-Tatum recently took to the red carpet wearing this gown so the chances of Taylor wearing it are slim. But. Again. This is the "Wildest Dreams” prediction post so I figured why not go there.
Cushnie Et Ochs is a brand well-known for its daring use of cut outs and sex appeal. As Taylor is maturing and gradually turning towards sexier gowns, I can’t help but lust to see her in a vibrant, statement-making colour like this as she usually turns to a favoured choice of silver, gold, white or black. - Badgley Mischka Spring 2015
It’s been awhile since we’ve actually seen Taylor have a “fairytale” moment in a gown. Having skipped all of the country music awards shows that would usually entail a princess-like gown from Taylor last year, her awards-show attendance was limited.
I’d just love to see Taylor in a gown like this with statement amethyst earrings, gunmetal smoky eyes and a pretty pink lip. A heavy stone ring and a dark mani would complete the look to balance out the pretty. - Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture
Though there were other gowns from the Elie Saab collection I loved, particularly Look 47 which features the same floral print as the one I chose, I ultimately went with Look 45 due to the plunging neckline.
Traditionally, the Grammys has been a full-length gown affair for Taylor. But considering she isn’t a major nominee as only “Shake It Off” is up in categories and next year she will likely have more nominations for her work on 1989, perhaps now will be the time for her to go short.
This gown is begging for a fierce pair of heels like the floral Christian Louboutin ‘Pensamoi’ sandal, glowing skin, golden eyeshadow and a matte, medium rosy lip or a glossy berry one. - Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 Couture
The consensus amongst TSS-ers was that you wanted to see Taylor in either Elie Saab or Zuhair Murad Couture. This is the “Wildest Dreams” predictions post so I went crazy and added both. As I mentioned in the Cushnie Et Ochs description, Taylor rarely breaks out of her metallics and neutrals cycle. Only this year did she really wow us in green and yellow.
The last time Taylor wore blue to the Grammys it resulted in the biggest gramophone sweep she has had in her career. After last year’s Album Of the Year heartbreak with RED, maybe a blue gown like this v-neck plunging stunner will bring her some luck.
As a side note, just imagine Taylor in Look 27 from this same collection. Can you say Elsa?
TSS Note: Prior to just losing my mind and picking gowns I knew Taylor would never wear I also started to at least somewhat realistically think about her picks. My original choices included this red plunging gown from Balmain Spring 2015 as it’s been awhile since she got to wear red on the red carpet, this completely beautiful nude and white confection that is right up Taylor’s alley designer and colour-wise from Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture.
I also LOVE this fan submission from the Badgley Mischka collection. It’s a silhouette similar to the gown Taylor wore last year and I can definitely see her wearing.
What do you think Taylor will wear this year?
— I listed an Elie Saab Couture choice as one of my predictions, and while Taylor didn’t ultimately wear my pick, she did wear a mermaid ombre high-low Elie Saab gown to the 2015 Grammys.
