Favourite Outfits of 2014: tayswiftstyle.com

Candid – May 24, New York City

When these candids got released I basically dreamily sighed over the presented colour palette of sweet, soft pastels. 

Shades of nude, white, baby blue and that soft pop of colour from the yellow inserts in her heels — all just so pretty. 

I also love the sense of detail in this outfit. Her Trina Turk blouse features a contrast leatherette collar (if you’ve been a TSS-er long enough you know I’m a sucker for leather contrasted with softer fabrics), the stitching on her Miu Miu skirt adds visual intrigue and the aforementioned yellow inserts on her heels spice up an otherwise simple and ladylike pair of pumps.

Let’s go over this outfit quickly: A killer romper in stark, plain hues of black and white is elevated even further by a bright pair of yellow pumps and a matching shoulder bag plus a pop of colour via her lips. 

While I wouldn’t consider this to be one of my Tay-vourite (I hate myself sometimes) hair days, the outfit kind of blows everything else out of the water.

Let’s go over this outfit quickly: A killer romper in stark, plain hues of black and white is elevated even further by a bright pair of yellow pumps and a matching shoulder bag plus a pop of colour via her lips.

Though my personal style doesn’t tend to skew very preppy, I do love this city slick take on Taylor’s retro-inspired RED style. The uber-preppy collared sweater is balanced by tapered cropped pants and lace up oxfords. 

I also love rather than in-your-face shades of firetruck red or cerulean blue, muted burgundy, navy and white were solidified by black accessories.

Taylor has been a long-time lover of dresses and the feminine aesthetic. But she has also branched out into menswear, structured blazers, oxford flats and coloured denim.

She also happened to wear this ensemble sans blazer laster on in the day, but I love the layering of it here. The addition of stripes, a red lip, and killer Louboutins make this a home run for me.

The messages I got after Taylor stepped out in this adorable Oasis dress made it pretty clear to me that it was one of people’s favourite outfits (at the time).

I love the design on the belt that makes it a little above your average accessory plus the open lace-up design on her (I would imagine super old) pair of heels.

Candid – March 30, New York City

Remember when I was talking about outfits with amazing colour palettes? This would be one of them. I love the way the colours all fit together with her borrowed-from-the-boys blazer with contrasting plaid fabric at the cuffs, tucked in oxford  button down, coloured denim and a cute pair of Isabel marant ankle boots. 

With Meredith in hand, this outfit didn’t need a hat to complete Sarah’s Candid 2014 Trifecta.
