An obvious pre-cursor to the more glittery versions that took to the 1989 Tour stage, I loved this performance of “Blank Space” by Taylor at the BRITs. Simple and sassy and a great performance overall.

This was the easy landslide winner in the Event category. I already called it when first writing the post on this yellow Jenny Packham gown that it would make it into the Favourite Outfits list. I’ve always been a sucker for a blonde in yellow and it’s a rarity to see Taylor truly embrace colour on the red carpet (she has prominently stuck to metallics, white, and black in the past) so this was a beautiful change of pace.

Taking a look at the Fan Vote poll, I know that this isn’t going to be a popular choice. I did want to make sure I included a full-length moment on the Favourite Outfits list, and so I chose this beautiful Roberto Cavalli design that Taylor wore to the BRITs. It’s an awards ceremony I had always thought would bring out the ‘dark’ in Taylor’s fashion, so I was happy when this elegant option that had a “wait until you see the back” moment came out to play.
The mature and understated hair and jewels let the back of this
dragon-design gown stand out and I think the silhouette of the gown
itself (sleeveless column) works beautifully with Taylor’s height and
body.

This outfit stands out the most to me because of the impeccable fit, the beautiful hair and makeup and the shoes. Which I love for not being plain pumps and for echoing the cutout design of the dress itself.
It isn’t really like me to ordinarily pick a short and sassy outfit like this as a Favourite Outfit contender but in going over the red carpet appearances from this year, I kind of felt a bit at a loss and underwhelmed. There were sadly no full-length gown red carpet appearances this year that I actually fell in love with. There were some I enjoyed, some I didn’t, and some that were just … okay. But none that I would add to my imaginary overall Top 10 list from Taylor’s career.

Wow. December really pulled a fast one on me. I can’t believe it’s already that time of year where I look back on Taylor’s fashion and pick my favourites for the fourth time!
While a lot of this year was spent with Taylor on tour and the majority of outfits we received were taken backstage during Loft ‘89s or Meet & Greets, Taylor still found a way to leave her mark on the sidewalk and red carpet.
It was another year of experimentation and one that spoke less of cohesion and more of trying out as many things as possible. Whether it was unexpected colour combinations, new choices in bags and shoes, as well as new brands coming into play. 2015 was a year for the new and exciting – to varying levels of success.
With 2015 drawing itself to a close, of course, it wouldn’t be a year-end list without me telling you guys that the thing I’m most grateful for from the past year hasn’t been slaying outfits or new music videos, it’s been you guys and your undying support. Finding ways to talk to you, be part of your lives in even the smallest of ways, and deepening the connection that I think TSS has forged has been the best part of all of this. Thank you so much for being there to enjoy, analyze and critique every outfit of Taylor’s this year, past years, and (hopefully) in future years. Thank you so much.
