Mark Cross ‘Scottie Large Flap Satchel in Cuoio’ – $2515.63
When Taylor abandoned her usual Ralph Lauren saddlebags it really should have been a warning.
Taylor actually confirmed in her Nightline interview that she snagged her bag from the set of this shoot. She’s probably keeping more than sandwiches in this thing nowadays, though.
Worn with: Erin Fetherston dress and Casadei pumps

The story behind this bag still makes me laugh. At the time, Taylor was carrying a rotation of Ralph Lauren saddle bags in a few styles until she almost exclusively opted for this Mark Cross bag. The photoshoot (and resulting behind-the-scenes tidbit) weren’t released until months later.
Looking back, Taylor has a long history of obsessively carrying one bag for extended periods of time and growing quite fond/attached to them. Even when making daily candid appearances during the 1989 era, she was a very frequent accessory recycler.
