TAYLOR SWIFT STYLE – REPUTATION TOUR

Ashish Spring 2018

  • ENCORE
  • Look What You Made Me Do

To cap off the show, how beyond perfect would this Ashish set be? The brand has been favoured by Taylor as of late, the sequins are stage-ready, the subtle differentiations in the fabric are almost snakelike, the silhouette and borrowed-from-menswear-runways is an ongoing reputation trend — and the R.I.P. on the breast pocket? Because she’s dead, of course.

So what do you think of my reputation tour choices? Any faves? Any other ideas?

Gucci Spring 2018

  • FINALE
  • This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

Did you really think I’d pull together a reputation tour costumes prediction series and not include a snake Gucci moment?

Of course, Taylor would not wear the matching crushed velvet joggers (or would she) but I can imagine this borderline comedic and extremely brash ultraviolet Gucci blazer would be the perfect complement to a song as purposefully obnoxious as “TIWWCHNT.”

Versace Fall 2017

  • INTERLUDE
  • You’re Not Sorry

Though I’m not quite sure how this would pan out, whether on piano, or as a simple pre-recorded video interlude that Taylor has playing in between acts while she prepares for the big finales (coming up ;). But I can’t shake this idea of having “You’re Not Sorry” remixed somehow into the reputation setlist. Made somehow harder, techno — similar to the CSI treatment when it was remixed for Taylor’s guest appearance on the show back in the day.

The vibes of this song and the subject matter of atonement somehow seems very fitting to the themes of reputation as an album.

And also I wanted an excuse to include a glimmering, copper Versace moment which when placed under the spotlights I’m sure would make Taylor look like a shining, fiery snake.

Baja East Spring 2018 OR Phillipp Plein Spring 2018

  • Out Of the Woods
  • Getaway Car

I couldn’t decide between these two outfits, but figured their vibe was close enough to one another that I would be fairly happy with either. My original choice when doing tour wardrobe research was the Phillipp Plein as Taylor did wear one of his jumpsuits during the “LWYMMD” music video and the edgy vibes of this particular outfit align with the reputation look.

However, I love the more laidback vibe of the Baja East outfit. And considering Taylor’s more quiet approach to this era and also love for anything distressed and a little worn around the edges, I thought the casual vibes (and fun fringe on the pants) might be fitting as well.

Azzaro Spring 2018 Couture OR Ashish Fall 2018

  • ACOUSTIC SET
  • I Don’t Want To Live Forever/Random Song
  • Wildest Dreams
  • Call It What You Want
  • New Year’s Day

Before heading on over to a respective b-stage for her traditional acoustic set, I’d envision Taylor making the switch into a more comfortable and short dress. This one bears strong similarities to a Jessica Jones one piece she wore during the 1989 Tour, but I think it’s an appropriate call out to all the times she’s worn and loved a metallic fringe outfit for tour.

See: her Roberto Cavalli gold number from the Speak Now Tour and black/white Mandalay dress from the Fearless Tour.

My second choice is another Ashish rainbow dress — a look that Taylor has already worn twice so far in two different silhouettes this era (1, 2). This fringed version is perfect for the movement of walking around on stage and catching the light.
