Versace custom ensemble

To continue the theme of all things Versace, her performance ensemble was also a custom piece by the Italian fashion house. The purple and gold combination screams Wonder Woman meets royalty, no?

Worn with: Kallati earrings + Brumani + Misahara rings, Versace necklaces, Versace bracelets, and Christian Louboutin boots

Versace custom

Combining many elements across a few Versace collections (the sequins from the pictured SS2020 collection, the button front from Fall 2019, buckle motif from Resort 2020) tells me that this might be a custom piece.

Either way, it’s an interesting back-to-back slideshow take that harkens immediately to Taylor’s most recent red carpet appearance at the Teen Choice Awards. I’m someone who can appreciate consistency and creating a cohesive aesthetic, but the same brand, similar pattern, one look after another? It feels like a missed opportunity to try something different.

That said, I do feel this is a significant improvement over the TCAs. The two-piece underneath is much more complementary to the blazer and I would not decline being stepped on with those slim heel OTK boots.

Your thoughts?

Versace ‘Deep V Neck Bodysuit’ – $1,095.00

In my opinion, this was one print too many. I think a solid print bodysuit would have been a great “resting place” for the eye to temper the loudness of the blazer and shorts.

Worn with: Versace blazershorts, Misahara earrings, Emily P Wheeler ring, Simone Perele bra, and Kat Maconie sandals

Versace ‘Barocco Pattern Blazer’ – $3,150.00

How much fun and unexpected is this? While it isn’t the Chanel suit that I predicted, I’ll take a partial win on this suiting moment from Versace. I’ll also take points for short. And that’s where my predictions accuracy stopped. Where I thought Taylor would go light, fluffy, and pastel she veered hard into an overboard of patterns.

My opinion is that this is one pattern (and one random coral bra) too far. I would have swapped the bodysuit for a solid colour (wine or a dark red/pink) and skipped the Simone Perel bralette for a clean neckline.

The teased 60s bouffant and makeup were beautiful choices that really added to the retro fun and flair that the pattern brings.
